Take the church to the streets...

My heart is truly filled with joy!  Tonight I was able to attended a meeting and worship time called City Gate http://missiontyler.com/.  This evening was full or stories of change, unification, stories of what God has placed on people's hearts to reach the homeless, students, gang members, etc, and most importantly prayer to seek God's will for the community of Tyler, TX and beyond.  I encourage you dear reader to revisit the original intention of the church.  It was never intended to keep the gospel within four walls and leave a dying world without hope, yet this is what is happening all around us.  No wonder people scoff at us.

I praise God for igniting my heart.  I praise the Lord for the desire for revolution and the people I met this evening who prayed with me/others because we are brothers and sisters in Christ.  I praise the Father for breaking down the barrier of religion and opening eyes to the true world around us.  I finally praise Him for giving people, like Travis White, Pat Mallory, and many more, a vision of change.  Would you pray for Revolution?  Would you pray for unity and love those around you like Christ loves us?

Isaiah 58: 8-12
8 Then your light will break forth like the dawn,
   and your healing will quickly appear;
then your righteousness[a] will go before you,
   and the glory of the LORD will be your rear guard.
9 Then you will call, and the LORD will answer;
   you will cry for help, and he will say: Here am I.
   “If you do away with the yoke of oppression,
   with the pointing finger and malicious talk,
10 and if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry
   and satisfy the needs of the oppressed,
then your light will rise in the darkness,
   and your night will become like the noonday.
11 The LORD will guide you always;
   he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land
   and will strengthen your frame.
You will be like a well-watered garden,
   like a spring whose waters never fail.
12 Your people will rebuild the ancient ruins
   and will raise up the age-old foundations;
you will be called Repairer of Broken Walls,
   Restorer of Streets with Dwellings.

Unlocking a New Year...

Today I decided to unlock the new year by walking through an unfamiliar door...the blogging world.  It has been my goal for quite sometime to keep some sort of journal in order to write down thoughts, ideas, hardships, victories, etc.  So here's to 2012 and what lies ahead!

As I was wasting time on one of my favorite websites, pinterest.com, I stumbled upon picture of keys.
Pinned Image
I have a fascination with keys, mostly because each one is unique and symbolizes something more.  The keys reminded me of possibilities and opportunities waiting to be seized, but which one too choose?  Some of the keys could unlock a house, car, classroom, or building.  Some keys could figuratively unlock hearts, minds, dreams,  progress, a mystery, or nothing. As cheesy and cliche as this may sound it doesn't change the fact that it is true.  In a sense we are all given a key.  Some of us make copies of our key to give to others, allowing them  to come inside our doors willingly.  Some only lend their key expecting to get it back with something in return, while others keep their keys hidden, never allowing anyone to really unlock their door.

So, as we begin this new year what will you do with your key?
